What is an Air Ambulance?

Flying Doctors Asia air ambulances function as compact intensive care units staffed with highly trained physicians, nurses, paramedics and respiratory therapists.

Air Ambulance medical personnel receive extensive training in flight physiology, airway management and emergency procedures. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification are required for all medical crewmembers.

Our Air Ambulance service provides safe transfer of patients with various medical conditions and specialises in critical medical transfers including:

  • ICU to ICU transfers (inter-hospital intensive care patients)
  • Ventilator-dependent patients
  • Cardiac emergencies
  • Multi-trauma cases
  • Spinal cord/head injury rehabilitation
  • Transplant recipients

The Hawker 700 jet charter is a mid-sized executive jet produced by the Hawker Beechcraft Corporation. This private jet can accommodate one or two stretcher patients, up to four family members, medical team of doctor and nurse and multiple suitcases. It features an enclosed lavatory for added comfort. The interior of this business jet offers a comfortable and spacious six-foot-wide cabin with the finest luxury appointments. The Hawker 700 has a cruise speed of 460mph (828 km per hour) and a range of 2100nm.
